# FAQ

> Common questions about OpenSRE.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What is OpenSRE?">
    OpenSRE is an open-source framework for AI SRE agents that answer questions
    about production systems. It uses your observability stack, cloud context,
    and runbooks, and can deliver its findings to Slack, local files, or other
    messaging channels. See the
    [Integrations overview](/docs/integrations) for supported tools.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I get started?">
    Install OpenSRE, sign in, then ask it something:

    ```bash theme={null}
    curl -fsSL https://install.opensre.com | bash -s -- -dc
    opensre
    opensre ask "why did checkout latency increase today?"
    ```

    Full walkthrough: [Quickstart](/docs/getting-started/quickstart).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which deployment path should I use?">
    Most users start with the local CLI (`curl` install, then
    `opensre` to sign in, plus `opensre integrations setup` for the
    tools you want OpenSRE to query). For an organization-managed runtime, use
    [Enterprise setup](/docs/install/install-enterprise) at
    [app.opensre.com](https://app.opensre.com). Hosted organization-wide
    connectors are still coming soon, so integrations remain local today.

    Managed and self-hosted gateway options are covered in
    [Deployment](/docs/guides/deployment).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I self-host OpenSRE?">
    Yes. Deploy the repository Docker image in `web`, `gateway`, or `scheduler`
    mode. Set `LLM_PROVIDER` and the
    matching provider API key (for example `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY` when
    `LLM_PROVIDER=anthropic`). See [Deployment](/docs/guides/deployment) and
    [Environment variables](/docs/install/environment-variables).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which model providers are supported?">
    The signed-in interactive shell uses the account-hosted model. Other hosts
    and account-independent CLI workflows support Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter,
    TrustedRouter, DeepSeek, Gemini, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and CLI-backed
    providers through `LLM_PROVIDER`. Provider matrix and troubleshooting:
    [LLM providers](/docs/platform/llm-providers).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does OpenSRE work with our existing tools?">
    In most cases, yes. OpenSRE integrates with observability platforms
    (Datadog, Grafana, Sentry), cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes), incident
    tools (PagerDuty, OpsGenie), databases, and messaging (Slack, Telegram).
    Browse the [Integrations overview](/docs/integrations) and run
    `opensre integrations verify` after setup.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens when I run opensre with no arguments?">
    Running `opensre` signs you in (once) and starts the interactive shell. The
    first prompt offers a demo; pick the CI/CD analysis of one of your repositories
    or skip it with **E**. Then describe issues in plain language. Slash commands
    such as `/help`, `/status`, `/demo`, and `/verify datadog` are documented in
    [Shell commands](/docs/getting-started/interactive-shell-commands).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How are security and telemetry handled?">
    OpenSRE supports reversible [masking](/docs/platform/masking) before external LLM calls
    and command-history redaction via
    [Interactive shell privacy](/docs/platform/interactive-shell-privacy). Anonymous product
    telemetry can be disabled with `OPENSRE_NO_TELEMETRY=1`. Report
    vulnerabilities to `support@opensre.com`.
